Charity help finder

When State payments are not enough, a charity or benevolent fund may help. Pick what fits you and see who to ask. 35 organisations, each checked on its own website on 20 October 2026.

In danger now? Call 999 or 112. Women's Aid's freephone is 1800 341 900, day or night.

Who are you?

Pick one or more. Many trade funds also help former workers and their families, so pick your job even if you have retired or lost your partner.

Before you contact a charity

Most charities ask whether you have claimed what the State already offers. Check that first: it is often more money, and it is yours by right.

Check what you could claim

For an emergency cost, ask your Community Welfare Officer about an Additional Needs Payment. For bills and debt, MABS is free. More on the big charities: Charity grants and help in Ireland.

How this list is made: we only include an organisation when its own website says who it helps and how, and we say no more than that page does. We give no amounts unless the charity publishes them. Each charity decides who it helps. Run a fund we should add? Tell us.
