Common questions

Are these tools really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up and no catch. They run in your browser, so nothing you type is saved, sent or shared. We never charge to help you claim what's already yours.
How accurate are the estimates?
Each tool uses the current official rates and rules, and we verify every figure against GOV.UK or Revenue/Citizens Information. They're a reliable first estimate to help you decide whether to claim — but the final decision rests with the DWP, HMRC or the Department of Social Protection.
Do you work for the government?
No. The People's Pocket is an independent financial-education service. We point you to the official application every time — you should always claim directly and never pay a third party to do it for you.
Can I check on behalf of a relative?
Absolutely — many people use these to check for a parent or older relative. With their permission you can help them apply. Checking for a family member is one of the highest-impact things you can do.

These are free estimates to help you decide whether to make a claim — not offers, guarantees or financial advice. Rules, rates and thresholds change. Always confirm your exact entitlement with the official source before acting.

Want the lot in one go?

The Grants Checker runs through everything you might be owed across the UK and Ireland — in about a minute.
