What can nearly every family claim?
Child Benefit is close to universal in both Ireland and the UK. Beyond that, help with childcare costs and, for lower incomes, top-up payments and school-cost grants.
Is help with childcare actually worth claiming?
Very much so — schemes like the NCS (Ireland) and Tax-Free Childcare / free hours (UK) can cut childcare bills significantly. Most families underclaim here.
