Woodlands: forestry profits free of income tax

The short answerProfits from the commercial use of woodlands in Ireland are free of income tax and corporation tax. If you're an individual you still pay PRSI and USC on them, and you must still declare them on your tax return.

Combined with afforestation grants and premiums, it's why forestry can be worth looking at on marginal land.
