What the scheme was
It helped homeowners with a household gross income under £40,000 a year replace gas, LPG or oil boilers at least 15 years old. Between 2012-13 and 2022-23, 48,926 grants were approved, worth £32.9 million.
The Department for Communities ended it because of budget pressures, and applications are no longer accepted.
If you were already approved
The Housing Executive will still replace boilers for customers who had formal approval before it closed. People whose applications could not be processed were to be contacted by the Housing Executive.
What can help now
The Department still funds the Affordable Warmth Scheme for people on lower incomes, which can cover heating and insulation. See Affordable Warmth in Northern Ireland.
