Home / Guides / Two social welfare payments

Can you get two social welfare payments?

The short answerUsually only one. But there are exceptions. If you care full-time for someone, you can keep your own payment and get half-rate Carer's Allowance as well. Blind Pension can be paid with other payments. And if you're on One-Parent Family Payment or a Bereaved Partner's Pension, you can get half-rate Maternity, Paternity or Parent's Benefit.

Child Benefit, Fuel Allowance and the Household Benefits Package aren't personal payments, so they sit alongside your main payment anyway.
