CRISS: an extra payment on your first 30 hectares

The short answerCRISS gives every active farmer an extra payment on their first 30 hectares, to move CAP money from bigger farms to smaller ones. The Department's estimate is about €40 to €43 a hectare. You claim it on your BISS and need at least one payment entitlement.

It's sometimes called 'front-loading'. Because it stops at 30 hectares, it's worth most, relative to size, to small and medium farms.
