FLAG Coastal Communities Development Scheme

Fund

€15 m, 2025 to 2029

RateSet by each region
2026 roundClosed 29 January 2026
The short answerEU and Irish funding for projects within 10km of the coast, run by seven regional Fisheries Local Action Groups from a €15 million fund to 2029. Fishers, small coastal businesses and community groups can apply; each region sets its own grant rates and caps, and every call is competitive. The 2026 round closed on 29 January 2026 and projects must be finished by 31 October 2026; the next call is announced on bim.ie.

Each FLAG region (there are seven around the coast) has its own Local Development Strategy, and a project has to fit it. The grant rates differ by region, which is why no single percentage is quoted here; your region's page on bim.ie has the figure.
